ID-NAT (Individual Donor Nucleic Acid Testing) detects the actual genetic material of viruses (HIV-1 RNA, HCV RNA, HBV DNA) directly in each donor's blood — without waiting for the body to produce antibodies. Conventional serology tests detect antibodies, which only appear after the window period.
